SUBJECTS & LEVELS

Support for the IB you are actually studying.

Your subject, level and examination session shape the plan. Tell us the exact course when enquiring so tutor availability and the right syllabus can be checked.

01

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

AA support at SL and HL develops algebraic fluency, functions, trigonometry, calculus and mathematical argument. Work through unfamiliar problems, choose a method and explain why it works.

02

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

AI support at SL and HL connects mathematical models, statistics and calculus to context. Practise interpreting results, checking whether a model is reasonable and using technology thoughtfully.

03

Physics, Chemistry & Biology

Move between scientific concepts, calculations and evidence. Lessons can focus on interpreting data, explaining mechanisms, using units consistently and structuring extended responses.

04

Computer Science & Economics

Develop computational thinking and trace algorithms, or connect economic models to the question being asked. For other IB subjects, describe your needs so a suitable match can be explored.

WHEN THE COURSE FEELS DEMANDING

Understanding one topic is only part of the challenge.

IB questions often ask you to combine ideas, interpret an unfamiliar situation and justify a conclusion. A student can understand the lesson yet struggle to decide what to do on a blank page.

01

Find the missing connection

We begin with a small selection of your recent work. An error might come from an earlier algebra gap, a misunderstood command term or a model that has not quite clicked. That distinction determines what to practise next.

02

Make your reasoning visible

Explain your choice of method out loud, show intermediate steps and check the result in context. Feedback focuses on your reasoning as well as the final answer, helping you become more independent.

03

Balance coursework and revision

Create a realistic sequence around school deadlines and your examination session. Internal assessment guidance focuses on understanding criteria, planning and reflecting on your own work; tutors do not write assessed work for you.

PREPARATION WITH PURPOSE

Build a revision routine you can keep.

01

Start with focused topic practice

Use short sets to strengthen a specific skill before combining topics. Review the reason for each mistake and return to the same idea in a different form to check that it has become usable knowledge.

02

Progress to exam-style reasoning

Practise interpreting the question, selecting information and structuring a response. Use appropriately sourced questions and published assessment guidance relevant to your course rather than treating all IB papers as interchangeable.

03

Rehearse, review and adjust

Introduce timed practice once the foundations are secure. Your plan can adapt as mock exams, school feedback and your own questions reveal which areas need further attention.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Start with where you are.

Share your course, current difficulties and preferred schedule. We use those details to explore a suitable tutor match and a plan for your first priorities.

1Tell us your subject, level and goals.

2Discuss tutor availability and lesson arrangements.

3Learn, practise and review your next steps.

Prepare your tutoring enquiry

A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

IB tutoring, explained.

A few things you might be wondering before you start.

Tell us about your needs
Do you support both IB Math AA and AI?

Yes. You can enquire about Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation at SL or HL. Include your course, level and exam session so the tutor match and lesson plan fit what you are studying.

Can I get help with an internal assessment?

You can request guidance with understanding requirements, choosing an approach and reflecting on your own reasoning. Any support must follow your school’s academic integrity rules. Tutors do not produce or rewrite assessed submissions.

Is tutoring suitable before the final IB year?

Yes. Earlier support can focus on the transition into the Diploma Programme, prerequisite knowledge and steady topic understanding. Final-year preparation can place greater emphasis on revision priorities and exam practice.

Can I request more than one IB subject?

Yes. List the subjects and levels in your enquiry. Matching depends on the specific subjects, your schedule and tutor availability; one tutor is not assumed to cover every subject.

How do you choose the right material?

The plan starts with your current course, school materials and examination session. Practice should be appropriate to that syllabus, with feedback on the concepts and reasoning each question is testing.
